WET But FUN Weekend...

We went to the Car Show in Bountiful on Saturday. We didn't get too wet, but it was kind of brisk. This is the car Darren wants. It was even for sale.... anyone have 18 grand they wanna give us? Darren loves old hot rods, but he will have to stick to making little models for now!
Our Sweet Breanne eating a carmel apple. Breanne came down with pink eye on Saturday, but thanks to Dr. Uncle Dave he was able to diagnose it at our family party that afternoon and call in a Rx for it right away.. Thanks Dave!
Our not-so-old camera died a week ago.. and with 2 cute people like this in my family I had to go get a new one quick, so we took lots of fun pictures over the weekend. Breanne loves piggy back rides from her daddy!
Breanne is a crazy nut!! There was an 18 wheeler there and she loved to run from the front of the truck to the back and jump of into Darren's arm.... without even any hesitation. Ohh the blind faith of a sweet child that trusts daddy will catch her everytime! The day ended with a yummy treat of chocolate pudding. Breanne... smell like pudding?!?

Six Year's later...

So... It's been 6 years since we've said 'I Do'. And like a roller coaster, there has been lots of ups and downs. But it's been a ride that I have enjoyed, and can't wait for the next turn! I just wanted to give a quick synopsis of the six fun filled years:
-We have been living in our home in Clinton, Utah for 5 of those 6 years.
-We both have our degrees (mine in hospital admin./radiology, and Darren's in Long-term Health Administration.) Darren is thinking about getting his Master's in the near future.
-Darren manages Skyline and Grandview Clinics for Ogden Clinic.
-I am fortunate enough to get to be at home with our sweet Breanne. I only work 2 days a month to keep my license at Mckay Dee Hospital.
-The happiest part (and most stressful) is our Beautiful "not so baby any more" Baby Girl Breanne. She is almost 2 1/2 years old and reminds us of that everyday. We both are crazy about her and love to watch her grow.
-We both look forward to buying a bigger home and adding to our family.. (No this is NOT an announcement!)
-Darren is an elders quorum teacher in our ward and I am the 2nd counselor in the primary. We both enjoy our callings and love our neighborhood.
-We are planning on camping lots this summer and creating many fun memories with our little family.
-We got a new addition to our family at Easter this year... A fluffy white and brown bunny named Bell that Breanne absolutely loves! That makes 2 animals: a beta and a bunny... Plenty for me!
-Breanne loves to go for bike rides with us and take apples to feed any horse that she can see.
-We love living close to family and enjoy doing things with them often.
-So to sum it all up, like all little families things get crazy, but we are loving this time in our lives and can't believe how fast 6 years have gone by! We look forward to 6 more, and 6 more, and 6 more...etc!
-Thanks for reading about us!

Weekend of Fun!

Darren had a work conference up in Deer Valley the weekend of our anniversary. His work was paying for the hotel and I could come along, bonus.... free room! so we headed out early on Wed. May 6th for a fun weekend. First we went to Gardner Village so Breanne could play at the Barnyard Buddies (a petting zoo) She loved it. Then Darren took us to see the tulips at Thanksgiving point, my very favorite thing to do on our anniversary. (It's becoming a tradition) Then we took Breanne to Grandma and Pa Mackay's house so we could have a few minutes to ourselves for dinner at the Outback. After that we headed up to Deer Valley. Our hotel was at the tip top of the mountain, I didn't know that land even existed! For the next few days Daddy went to conferences while Mommy and Daughter shopped at the Park City outlets. I had in my mind that it would be such a fun bonding experience for the 2 of us.... Well any of you moms know that taking a 2 year old shopping is not a good idea! But we had a lot of fun!

Breanne loved the horse ride despite her face in this picture.

The 'Hidden Gardens'. The tulips were as pretty here as they were on our wedding day... well almost! :-)

Cute... need I say more!?!

I literally shopped till I dropped!

Happy 6 Years!

Darren and I were married on May 6th, 2003.. The happiest day of our lives!

We were married in the Salt Lake Temple.

Unfortunately, these are copyrights...hence the watermark. We chose May 6th specifically for the tulips. I told Darren that if it was rainy that day, we would postpone the wedding until I could get a perfect day! He started praying four months in advance. And still, 6 years later, every May 6th has been sunny skies. What a prayer!
Our 6 year anniversary was perfect! Stay tuned for another posting of our weekend celebration in Deer Valley!

Easter

Breanne was so much fun this year! As you can tell she was very excited about her Tootsie Rolls from the Easter Bunny.
Darren talked me into getting a real bunny for Breanne. He didn't have to beg too hard. When we found 'Bell' we all fell in love with her. Breanne was scared at first, but now she always wants to play with her.

Easter egg hunt at Gram's and Pa's house.

Breanne is finally getting the idea of the 'greed fest' each holiday season! She loves to open presents and eat all the fun traditional treats.

Darren's Birthday

Months ago Darren mentioned that he'd like a rootbeer tasting party, so I found 8 different kinds/brands of rootbeer and poured them into shot glasses. All the party goers guessed which kind was which and which one they liked the best.Darren's birth mom, Jeanette, came to celebrate with us. Valene, Darren, and Jeanette toasting to another great year to come!
I wasn't about to attempt a over-sized rootbeer float cake, so I e-mailed different rootbeer slogans to the local bakery and they copied them onto edible paper. It turned out fun....Happy 29th buddy!
Where ever there are candles to be blown, Breanne comes running with her cheeks full of air. Make a wish Daddy!
The guitar Santa brought him over a year ago still sits in his closet covered with a warm, comforting layer of dust. But the desire to strum the guitar still lives, so I bought him Guitar Hero (complete with two guitars for competition mode) for his birthday. We stay up 'til mid-night strumming away like Aerosmith.
